Fellowship

The link to the UNDESA Stipend Rates for Fellows and Scholars in articles 25.a. and 26.a. of the policy has been updated to reflect stipend rates as of January 2024.

Internship

The explanatory notes in Step 8 of the Internship procedure have been updated to clarify that the OHR Policy and compensation unit will periodically publish a schedule of stipends/remote stipends by duty station. 

This update is to extend the duration of the Service Contract policy to 30 June 2024 to cover the transitional period of partner personnel currently on Service Contracts who will transition to Partner Personnel Services Agreement on 30 June 2024. UNDP personnel previously on service contracts have already transitioned to national/international personnel services agreements in accordance with the national personnel services agreement policy and with the international personnel services agreement policy, as applicable.

This update is to extend the date of transition of partner personnel currently on Service Contracts to Partner Personnel Service Agreement from 31 December 2023 to 30 June 2024.

Fellowship

Minor typos were corrected in the Fellowship Agreement Template. The Certificate of Completion of Fellowship Assignment has been added to step 13 of the procedures. The Externally-Sponsored Fellowship Undertaking Letter has been added to step 8 of the procedures. The content of the UNDP-sponsored Fellowship Undertaking Letter has been corrected to align it with the Fellowship Policy.

​The IPSA policy has been amended to remove inconsistencies in the approval authority for direct recruitments, and clarified the performance evaluation process.

​The NPSA policy has been amended to clarify the limits in setting the initial remuneration, the performance evaluation process and the conditions applicable for requesting the deposit of local NPSA remuneration in an account other than a local bank account. The Guide on Titles, Levels and minimum qualification requirements was amended to correct an inconsistency in the number of required years of experience for higher level NPSAs.

Internship

​Provisions have been included in UNDP’s internship framework to provide for remote interns who are eligible to a reduced stipend at the remote internship rate. Offices in non-family duty stations and other dangerous locations which are not permitted to offer in-person internships, will now be able to offer remote internships. Specific guidance to managers on how to best engage interns remotely is provided.
