January 01, 2017 - The revisions to the policy and procedures align with the new compensation package for internationally recruited staff approved by Resolution GA/RES/70/244 of the General Assembly on 23 December 2015. In accordance with Staff Regulation 3.4 (e) and Staff Rule 3.6 all staff members are obliged to report any changes to their dependency status to BMS/OHR at the time of the change ensuring accuracy in payment of benefits.

A new policy on Dependency Allowances is under development in line with the new compensation package that was approved by the GA Resolution A/RES/70/244. In the meantime, please be guided by the principles governing the implementation of the dependency allowances that are stipulated in the UN Staff Regulation 3.4 and UN Staff Rule 3.6 (link).
